Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
The journey of reprocessing all begins with intention. Maybe you are tired of feeling charged and activated, maybe it’s now impacting external aspects of your life. Regardless, I offer a relational and warm environment to EMDR sessions. As it’s a bottom up treatment (aka the body leads us), I make sure we are remaining mindful and protected through the desensitizing and reprocessing journey.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is an evidence based and empirically validated therapy treatment that can be used to treat trauma, PTSD, persistent negative beliefs, and other stressful incidents. EMDR is great for singular event trauma as well as any relational maladaptive belief that feels hindering to your potential. Please explore this page through the EMDRIA website to learn more about the service and what to expect!
EMDR progress and treatment can take different lengths of time and look different depending on the person and what’s being targeted. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to discuss if you would be a good fit for EMDR.
I completed my EMDR training with Institute of Creative Mindfulness and fully trained. I bring in a mindfulness and attachment based perspective to the EMDR experience by establishing resources that offer us nurturance, wisdom, and protection. As a therapist who enjoys parts work/IFS (think the Inside Out movies), I bring those theories into EMDR.
For in person sessions, we have multiple BLS options including: buzzers, light bar, butterfly tapping, or following the hand! On telehealth we can use an online bilateral dot or I can also guide you through butterfly tapping.
Growth is painful, change is painful. Yet nothing is more painful than staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.
Relief and healing is possible.
EMDR can treat
Depressive Disorders and moods
Anxiety disorders and moods
PTSD, singular and chronic
sexual assault
violence and abuse
negative belief patterns (self worth)
inner child healing
emotional, mental, and narcissistic abuse
As a decolonial trauma therapist, I utilize EMDR to process and heal from oppression cognitions and racial traumas that affect many minoritized populations. While the reality is that abolishing racism, discrimination, and any painful experience of oppression is centuries long work, EMDR can be helpful in aiding our bodies natural processing cycle for experiences and beliefs of oppression that can be a barrier to our sense of peace.
We create space and invite our ancestral and generational resources to also aid in the strengthening of our natural process of healing.
EMDR Intensives
*Intensives require a deposit of $400 at the time of scheduling. This deposit is non refundable if intensive is later cancelled, and covers the cost of the pre-intensive 2 hour intake session.

Intensives are a great option for you if you find yourself having a hard time finding a one hour slot on a weekly basis or even if you find yourself having a difficult time maintaining the momentum due to it being spaced apart. We use intensives as a way to build and have the momentum of therapy in our favor for a transformative experience over the course of a few days.
Scheduling for intensives are a bit different as I am more open to accommodating weekend times to honor available time to process and to let the body rest following session.
-
Intensives start with a two hour intake session where we go over the client workbook, gather history, look at current life stressors and support systems, and pave the path for the EMDR intensive experience.
After the two hour intake, we schedule 3 hour sessions for 3 days, with the option of adding more days if needed. After accomplishing our emdr goals, we end the intensive with a closure session which involves reflecting on the experience and coming up with a plan to maintain the results and change worked on through this journey.
-
EMDR intensives are definitely a financial investment, which is one of the reasons why I have put together a strict roadmap to follow so we can make the best use of the time booked. My baseline rate for therapy services is $200 per hour, however for intensives I offer 3 hour blocks for $500 (a discount of $100 per block).
2 hour intake - $400 (deposit covers this)
Day 1- 3 hour min.
Day 2- 3 hour min.
Day 3- 3 hour min.
intake + 3 days of work = $1,900 for 11 hours of an intensive experience.

If you're ready to get started with your EMDR intensive, please complete the book consultation form to schedule a 15 minute free phone consultation. After the consultation, we will go ahead and schedule our 2 hour intake ($400), and finalize the time and dates for our 3 day 3 hour blocks of intensive.
As mentioned, depending on what we're targeting, we may need more or less than the 3 day 3 hour blocks, and additional can be added as we progress through the treatment. In an ideal situation, our last block would include atleast an hour of processing the experience, however if time runs out we can always book a termination/processing session separate.
